A leading spokesperson for the insurance industry has claimed that home security is "always important", no matter what month or season it is.
However, he states that claims for thefts tend to rise during the first quarter of the year and that home security is a very important issue for insurers.
"The prerequisite that insurers always look for are good quality door locks," the representative of the Association of British Insurers said.
